Meet about lunch time for BBQ near the boat sheds opp Fed Square.

We plan to go exploring up the Yarra..and later down the Yarra to the docklands area.. Should be a lota fun and the more the merrier.

The duck race starts at 4pm.

I'll have my Naish Glide if anyone want to have a go one it..

The weather looks perfect..

About mid-day. (12 noon) .. The SupBus is going to try and park there and it has a barbie.. (I think)

And opposite Fed Square? So that is on the southern/St Kilda side of the Yarra?

I'll come down at St Kilda then for some paddling around the marina and then head over to the Yarra after lunch..Does the bus still have the barbie?

Maybe if we all meet up at St Kilda first and then talk about parking somewhere near the Yarra and paddle up/down to where the duck race is.

After paddling at St Kilda all morning I went over to the duck race on the Yarra about lunch time.

Our normal parking area was blocked off but I was lucky to get a park nearby and unloaded my Naish AST.

I paddled over to the barge and all those yellow wheelie bins are full of ducks.. About 13,000 of them.

The duck are $5 each and the winner wins a new car.



There were people everywhere and many had Aussie flags, hat's a T shirts.



As it got close to the start of the duck race people gathered on the banks of the river to watch.



It was a perfect day and people were everywhere.



The big count down..and they're off and racing.

And the winner is........not my duck.. Bugger!



I paddled up and down the river all arvo..and didn't fall in once..
