Anyone interested in a downwinder first thing tomorrow morning? No idea if the northerly will really be at suitable strength when the sun comes up but I was thinking of a StKilda to Green Point run - maybe meet at Green Point around 6.30 (ish), transfer to StKilda and in the water by 7.30, and done by 9.

If the wind isn't blowing, we could just paddle around Green Point.

Forecast for Tuesday
Cloudy. Areas of rain developing during the morning then easing to isolated showers in the evening. Winds northerly averaging up to 50 km/h tending west to southwesterly up to 30 km/h around midday.

Hey guys,
sorry I didn't see this sooner. Tues is one of my ride days and with the rain forecast over the next couple, thought I'd better have a solid one.
Hope yours went well today.

Now!! I've convinced Creeds into a down-winder tomorrow! Serious!

Forecast for Wednesday
Winds: West to northwesterly 20 to 25 knots becoming northwesterly 25 to 30
knots later in the evening. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres
during the afternoon then increasing to 2 metres later in the evening

Planning on a St Kilda to Half Moon leaving from St Kilda around 10.30 am.

We don't have alot of time to stuff around with car shuffles, etc, so like to keep tight!

I'm keen..

It was a great DW run today.. There were five of us and Pete won on his Naish 14 and Jonathan was close behind him on the new Starboard 12'6" SurfRace.. and I was a couple of minutes behind them.. I think Pete did it in about 1hr and the wind was about 15-25 knots with some great runners.

Hmmm,
when you say Pete won, things are getting serious! Good Stuff!

Actually, I reckon Creeds will do ok, he's strong, kinda like Pete.

I am lead to believe that it's another 6.30 Sandy meet for 7.30 StKilda start. See you there.

We had a great down wind paddle at dawn this morning.. Our down-winder started as a no-winder but the wind soon picked up and we were getting lots of runners.

Dave was on his DC16 and Cam was on his Naish 17.. I used my Naish 14 and Paul used his 12'6" Starboard Pin.

I tried my GoPro helmet cam for the first time to see how it would turn out.. I'm already 6'4" and with the camera on my head it makes me look about 8' tall.

Here's my vid.. It's just the first few minutes and well before we started to get runners.

Some may find it pretty boring and want their three minutes back.. But some might like listening to Fleetwood Mac from 1969 doing their classic Albatross.

Another day.. Another down-winder.. This was yesterday arvo.. Hoping to get to the end before the sun goes down.

And another boring little vid.. Well boring for those not into this type of paddling.. .. Almost no wind but still fun.. I was on my 14' Glide.
