Well, maybe, but it's good enough for me.
It's been a sudo long weekend here with the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday. The weather is all over the place - 4 seasons in one day. Friday night I haven't seen so much rain in the space of an hour, Saturday it was warm in the high 20's with a fair bit of wind. Today it was gloomy but still. The forcast said 25kn winds coming in the arvo and no swell. When I woke up I had a look at the cams at Pt Leo - there were lots of people out and it kind of looked ok, the flinders cam I saw a boat with some paddlers catching some waves, which looked like fun - I was missing out.
At midday with the overcast conditions I thought I'd get out of the house and give it a go. As I was driving down, the wind picked up, and I almost turned around. I decided to drive over to Pines and despite the low tide caught some fun ripples, after a couple of hours the wind dropped so I headed out to Flinders. It was a bit lumpy but pretty bloody good, and best of all I had the place all to myself, which I thought was quite amazing.
Despite my constant procrastinations over the conditions - the last few times when I've ummed and arrred and finally decided to make the leap it's paid off. What a great day it turned out to be.
Well fair play to ya Oliver and I would love a day like yours as you have described cos the last time I ummed and arred and decided to make the leap it was s**t. The conditions had worstened so much so I gave up after 1/2 hr of flailing around. Also I haven't seen any waves for a month I reckon.

If there is a groundswell god then he needs to pull his finger out and get his arse over to AK east coast!!
