A few of us are doing a Mentone to Rickets Point and back paddle today for those interested in joining us.. approx 10am start.. We'll stop off at Rickets cafe for a cold smoothie so bring some money.. This light north wind is perfect for paddling along the Beaumaris cliffs and it's such a beautiful day today here in Melbourne.. .. Sorry to rub it in to those having to work..

Missed it by that much!

Actually, I roused the missus this morning [ I know what you're all thinking!]
And got her on the water at Half Moon by 6.30am. Perfect, glassy, windless conditions. One other keen paddler out as well. Beautiful sunrise around 7 ish and just as we finished at 7.30, the wind started to pick up.

Love my timing!

Woody, thanks for the copy of your book. The wife has read it and then it will get passed onto the 12 yo daughter to digest. I'll have a crack at it as well sometime.
Hope you're enjoying the new board.

Here's some pictures from yesterday mornings paddle from Mentone to Rickets.

When Mick and I got there we spotted this pretty nice looking boat sitting out in the water and paddled out to check it out.. It wasn't a boat.. it was more of a ship.

It even had another boat in its boot.

We were soon joined by Jonathan and Mel.

The water is always crystal clear here.

We turned the corner and headed North towards for Rickets Point Cafe.

I've never ever seen Rickets so low.. there were islands of reef that I've never seen before.. Could it be the affects of the tsunami???

We paddled back past that beautiful boat and I took more pics.

I saw this boat recently in Geelong.
weird to watch the guy driving (docking) it with
what looked like a Ps3 wireless controller
and standing right at the front and his partner
right at the back. i think the rego number is quite
appropriate 747. We wernt that impressed when he
left his engine running all night so he could run an
airconditioner.
