Last years poster for the Merimbuls Classic was great and here's a pic of this years poster called 'the dirty second'.. (sorry about the small pic).

It's the 32nd running of this event.. Get it.. 32nd.. Dirty Second..

Is there anyone from Perth heading over?, I am considering it just not sure of the logistics.

Ie Fly to Canberra (Melb or Syd) and hire a car or campervan from there, fly to Merimbula via Sydney or Melbourne.

Of course bringing a SUP, kite/surfboard and kites makes it harder and more expensive.

If I was to take the campervan option is there a caravan park close to the festivities.

You can just fly to Melbourne.. and then paddle up the coast from there..

We hired a 12 seater mini bus from Canberra so we can throw all the boards and gear inside , $150 each for the 4 days (5 of us) still plenty of cheap accommodation at Merimbula and there is a Caravan park right across the road from the event.

It's about a 3 hour drive from Canberra a 12 seater mini bus is just a standard car licence.

Yep, Tween Waters Caravan Park - right across the road from the main contest site. That's where I'm setting up old Victor Viscount for the week! Woo hoo - can't wait.

Everyone signs up, registers and pays on the first day after about 9am when there will be a briefing and then a pig out at the famous barbie.. After all that settles we think about paddling/surfing and having fun.. It's very casual and there's only one rule.

Check the Merimbula Sailboard Club Website for updates, accomm., links, emails, etc. for updates on the event - coming soon....

You can enter the event on the day. No difference to whether you book early. Don't know the fees yet, but last year's entry was $110.00.

Naish have a new SUP board again as a prize.

Start thinking about interstate teams for the Balmoral Bar to Bar sup races on the w/e.

Friday is looking good for a special event BOP style race .. Maybe using the new Naish One boards.
