Just checked out Birubi Point to the north of Newcastle to see how big the swell is.

Mountainous swell lines as far as the eye can see.
Tomorrow might be the day to test out the breath holding skills with a paddle out to the heads if the wind drops and the swell bends in.
Been watching the camera and it's starting to throw a little white water.

Anyone up this way keen to venture out ?

Do you reckon they will let me get my SUP onto the ferry at Hawks Nest in case I do get blown across

Been watching and mapping the wave that breaks through the heads for a long time now.
If the wind drops, the swell bends and the tides on our side it could be some great waves to be had.

There's a wave starting to throw a little further across, so the hope is that with the size of the swell it will start to wrap across in front of shoal bay headland...

There is a perfect bomby in the guts of the entrance to the bay we used to foilboard alot on but i think the wind would be a major problem.
Try one mile point it should be good in the morn. Looks like the swell is going to hang around all weekend so no doubt you'll find something!
time to get that bombora chaser out i think

Yep this is the break I have been watching and mapping.
Sadly no go today... wind is almost calm at present but there is no sign of a wave at the bombie.
Swell needs to wrap/refract a bit more... maybe
