I've got a spare surfboard mount, but it is a flat disk and the deck near the nose of the 2013 Naish Glide 14' is slightly convex, and it is also a matt finish - so I'm not at all confident that the surfboard mount will stick reliably. What have you guys done just for a deck mounted GoPro on this board?

I'm sure it will be fine.. I'd use duct tape.. and have a float.

Check out my friends at the start of this vid.

OK thanks DJ, so just the original baseplate from the pack and Macgyver it up... I sort of guess you'd suggest duct tape!
Does the duct tape stain the board finish at all?
The gopro mount on that board paddling behind you at 0:35 looks pretty dodgy. Do yours wobble that much? if so, it doesn't seem noticable in your videos.

Yeah mine wobbles a bit but I edit it out.. The Glide does't rock and wobble like the dugout Ace.

Some tape stick better than others.. Nitto tape is less sticky and will not lift the clear coat.. Bear tape sticks much better but take care pealing it off.

I guess the best thing to do would be is to put a layer of the less sticky tape first and then use the better stuff to stick your mount to that.

You can put an icecream stick on each side under your mount to alowe for to dome on the deck.

The mount on my ace was solid. As DJ said the board rocks a lot more than most. Vids came out alright. The contour I use doesn't seem as clear a pic as the go pros though. Also have it set on low res to save space on the iPad.

Cheers

My original baseplate is playing hide and seek at the moment, but I did find the concave mount from the surf mount pack - unfortunately, the only spot that seems to match the curvature of the deck nicely is about 8" down from the nose - I was hoping to bring it back a bit to give the camera a bit more protection as I generally have to tackle 1 or even 2m waves at both ends of a run and I'm still too wobbly to make it through without coming off a few times.
I'll have to search around more.

Here's my vid with the baseplate mounted up near the nose of the Glide. The perspective is nowhere is near as good as DJ's high mount, but it easy to have it taped on before transporting the board to the starting point.

Had to duck out for a quick failed downwinder. Forecast was for 25kt N, but ended up being 10-15 NE cross chop... Anyway, I found the base plate now, so that's an option, but it would be nicer to go with something a bit more elegant and semi-permanent. Any other ideas? Has anyone used the concave curved mount on a glide?
