Hello breezers, just wondering who's going to this event at the end of May? Will there be any shops up there able to hire out race boards for the weekend? Will there be any manufacturers at the event able to supply boards? There's a few of us planning on getting up from Sydney for the fun but we're not 100% sure about transporting our boards up so I'm trying to find some alternative solutions in case we can't sort transport. Cheers guys!!
Kieranr said... Sounds good mate......mind if I draft you for the 10k? Just kidding. Any tips on a good contact you'd reccomend up that way to organize a board from?
I'd say the Goldy shops would be your best bet. Steve, Ange and jacko at roar are the only ones I know of. Not sure if Surftech (jm paddle) hires boards out but they would be worth a try. I might be able to bring one board down if you get desperate.
Cheers. Ryan
Don't mind if you wash ride me, it is a race although more of a cool social race. Good natured not overly serious
There's about five families at least from the Sunnie Coast going and all camping in Byron Bay, like RJK doing my third paddle. It's a great event without the hype of winning, just being part of it. It's not a manufacturer's showcase, just a great day among every type of watercraft that floats. Roar always supports the event and may help you with board hire or better sell you a board. Hope to see more SUP paddlers there than last year.
Cheers for all the replies guys, really looking forward to it. Should be a great bunch up from OZSUP Rosebay to meet some new friends and of course have some sneaky beers at the Brunswick hotel!!! It will be great to put some faces to the names on here too.
