I have lots of pics from the trade show and I'll post them on another thread.
After the morning paddle and a few small waves on the Merimbula bar we hit the barbie and Steve said he would take us to secret place #1.
We had a great arvo in well over head high sucking waves that gnarly enough to keep me and my 10' Mana on the beach as a spectator.
Once we got back to Merimbula it was pretty late but some wanted to do a DW'er and Cam wanted to join them and I offered to drive his car down to Pambula to pick him up.. and I took some pictures.
Jacko paddled across from the main beach straight into a 20 knot headwind like it was nothing.. He used the Naish 14' Javelin and I never thought it could be used as a DW board in conditions this rough.. He proved me wrong.
Here's Ali with her 14' Glide and Cam with his 17' Glide.. and the other 17 there is Andy's.. We got a call from Casso and he was going to paddle out and meet the guys as they headed for Pambula.
Ali, Cam and Andy head left and Jacko heads right and into the strong outgoing current for a little warm up and to give the others a head start.
Jacko finally turns and heads off after them.
I got a couple of shots of Jacko paddling past the Aquarium wharf.
By the time they had reached the end of the point Jacko had caught them (he's like the energizer bunny).
I jumped in the car and drove to Pambula to see them come in.. The day before it was caos as we entered the Pambula river mouth with a head high swell and very fast out going tide.. I couldn't wait to see how Jacko handled the Jav through that.
