The new board looks pretty sweet, it's 8 x 27 3/4 x 41/4
I know it's not dramatically different from other Laguna Bay boards but thought I'd post a few pics anyway. Haven't had a surf on it yet but the forecast is looking good for the morning.
I weighed it without fins and deck pad, 6.4kg, finished up at 7.1kg with fins and grip.

nice, you must give a run down on it after you have surfed for a bit

Looks very nice! LB are definately pushing the boundries in regards to length and WIDTH especially.

One thing I have noticed with regular longboard shapers and SUP shapers is that they are all still toeing in the
side fins approx 1/4 inch. I had a chance to catch up with Bob McTavish & Steve Walden when they were
doing their tour of Vic and they both said themselves and other shapers are starting to toe in the fins less, if at
all and that it makes the board faster and doesn't limit the boards ability to turn.

They both said having the fins upright limited drive through turns so setting them at an angle is still the way to go.
Makes sense to me, anyone else?

From a fellow LB rider, your board looks really sweet. Be interested to see how the quad fin setup goes, lets us all know. Should be fast.

How much do you weigh..?

Looks nice Cam, you must be pretty light eh? The narrower boards are definately the ticket for performance. Jacko's 8 0 Naish is only 26 1/8" wide I think. Let us know how you go.

Had the board out in 2-3ft waves this morning, wasn't the greatest conditions, bit of water moving round but pretty glassy.
What a sweet board! fast and loose with plenty of drive, I rode it as a quad, had as close to a short board feel to it that you can have for an 8ft board. Found it a little bit wobbly at first cos it's a bit more domed in the deck than I'm used to, but not a problem.
Hey Goaty - I weigh pretty close to 80kg

Actually I am 82kg and my Laguna is 28" so that makes sense. The rounded nose allows you to go shorter as Tully explained to me.

I am looking to get a gun next and it will be 27 1/4 wide!

Enjoy!

That sounds awesome! Can't be too many SUPs around like that I'd imagine.

Goatman,

That width is exactly what you want for a gun.

What length were you going to go?

The JL 12'0" gun is 27 1/2" and feels insane in surf it's made for.

Cheers,

Courts

Hey Courts, I am doing a 9' 5" which is long enough for most of the breaks around here as they are pretty intense ledgy reef breaks a bit like North Point or Jakes. So I guess it is really a semi gun. Eventually I would like an 11 footer for the big bombies.
