Would like to get feedback on a possible new event if it was held would people race
Paddle Challenge
Surfers Paradise Beach
21st DEC 2013
Sat afternoon
32 SUP paddlers
32 Club Prone paddlers
BOP type course 3 laps with beach transition every time (not racing against each other)
Final after rounds top 8 Sup and Prone race for Cash Prize $7000 plus
Bonus $1000 if a women can beat man???
Plus suppliers expo along beach front..
Feedback appreciated??????.

would the prone paddlers be in the water as the SUP at the same time?

Sounds like good fun , not that it would affect me but do the prone and sups race off for the cash or do they have their own cash pool?

Sounds pretty good to me just be prepared for the heavy shore break. Another good thing is it is fully flood light at night. Line up a comp with a full moon and you could have an epic night event. PM me I can get the Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club involved for your water safety.

A serious, non-knocking question. Do you think that the powers that be would allow any racing SUP or not, to be held at night or even late afternoon. If there is any chance of a person going under and a search being needed then that would be bad news I would have thought.

day light and artificial light are miles apart and shadows/darkness can play havoc with balance IMO

Excellent Idea and would be an excellent event.

Too soon as we really need a bit more time to be prepared or even just know its on as Xmas is 5 weeks away (too soon and close to Xmas).

Big macs not a problem But I will be in Sydney racing there and Beau and others.....
