Hi. Time of the year to look for a new board. To day I have the Naish Javelin 14x24 but thinking about changing it. It still have to be a flatwater/all round sup, as I mostly ride in flat but also small chops and light downwinders. So I have narrowed it down to the 2017 DC surf race (puma) 14x24 or the 2017 Starboard All Star 14x24,5
So my question is: which of these boards will be fastest in flatwater? Or will my Javelin be fastest? I dont have possibility to demo.
The Puma 14/24 is the exact same board as Travis in Titouan did use at the Huntington Survivor race and will use at PPG Manatea will use it this weekend in Oregon for the course race saturday and the DW sunday. Very Allround board quick enough on the flat. I did not try the 2017 Allstar by 24.5 though
Taking off my Fanatic cap, I'd say have a look at the NSP DC. I had the opportunity to try the new boards with Alain and DC and I was impressed. But as always, make sure you demo. Most retailers are starting to demo the 2017 boards. The new Fanatics are coming in and they have changed a lot. The Strikes are more stable and the Falcons have increased volume by 30 litres and a changed, parallel rail line.
