Hi,

Can someone quantify the difference this board will have compared to something like the 11'6" Naish?

For example, in flat water, would a paddler expect to be able to padle 30% faster (8.00knts instead of 6.00knts). Okay, I dont need precision to 2 decimal places, but would like some qualification, beyond ".it will be faster".
Any comments on other differences or attributes.

Thanks in Advance

Hey Paul,

I'm not sure if anybody here has even seen one in the flesh, let alone riden one, let alone done some time trials against other boards.

The pictures of it look fast though .

Thanks Casso,

Yeah I gathered that.
Makes me wonder why all the hype, (I am guilty also).
People have even ordered them.
Guess soon David and other will be able to tell us.

I know that I am slowly getting addicted to paddling in flat water, and, I would love a board that gave a little more feeling that you are actually going somewhere

Cheers

I should know soon and I'll let you know..(about 20 more sleeps)..

30% faster is a big ask and I don't expect anywhere near that.

In fact from what I've heard about comparo's between stock boards and boards like the C4 Vortice there is only about 1-3 knots difference in paddling speed.

It's ability to pick up runners is what counts and even that is a big ask for a stock 12' board.

I think the board will be more about the shape and being a board that's specific for flat water..and not a big wave board that you can also use on flat water.

Not that there's anything wrong with that..

We'll soon see.

DJ,great photo!

Iam thinking on the up side! The guy maybe over 50 yrs of age and have a look at the great shape he is in!
Also, maybe his top hand is not good form, but he may have been paddling for hours and is buggered.

Interesting notches taken out of the sides and bottom of the blade in that photo, DJ.
Narrow the profile?
Stabilise the blade?

I wonder why?

"Narrow the profile?
Stabilise the blade?"

Maybe just to look cool..

JB might know what the theory is behind the 'V' blade or Dovetail.

I'm not sure about the sides cuts.. It could be just to reduce the width or reduce the total blade area.

Haven't seen the board but love it already But to me judging by the pic the deck grip should be a bit longer or is it just not camo?

Hey Danny if you look close you can see the deck grip is much bigger that the small camo area.

I'm thinking he has just changed sides in his stroke and the top hand is sliding to the top/tee like it's surposed to. In his next stroke his top hand will probably move and go over the tee to continue on. The photographer has just captured him right after a change.
