Noticed this gash in my board after an hour in the surf. Looks as though there is hair coming out of the board. Took it to the local shaper/repairer and he agrees it's like hair. It is a Naish Nalu GT model.

Anyone have any idea if there are hair like fibres involved in the Board's construction?

Yeah Naish's do that. Ever since Robby introduced the Penetrator, Naish's have an habit of breaking out like that.

Looks like you need to take it in for a Brazilian before the repair job pal.

I had a board which clipped a guy on the knee. Got a crack in the rail and was full of his leg hair! That looks very similar just a different place and brand of board. Fear not its not the build or brand of the board.

Robbie Naish puts a bit of himself in every board.

I gave the same board, a Nash Nalu GT. I had a similar crack appear when I first started using it with Zero impact. Nash preferred to claim I had dinged the board. After extensive use and many bangs and hits nothing similar has appeared. My theory... The hair got trapped in a fine crack which U reckon is a manufacturing fault. I just hope mine and yours) remained water proof.

Iv got a Nula 10"6 GT love the way it paddles and surfs you can catch practically anything on it. Unfortunately i put a huge crack the whole width of my deck the second time i took it out and it was in some very small surf so im not really impressed with there strength i got it repaired stills surfs great but got a big ugly repair in it because the deck grip had to be removed to repair it and i cant seem to find new deck grip to match it

Its a 2015 model Joffa unfortunately i purchased it secound hand so i didnt get any warranty on it but thats the risk you take on second hand boards. Cost me $400 to get it repaired but they couldn't replace the deck pad so now i just wax it. Looks terrible but still surfs great.

What, like give your board a Brazilian? It'll just start dropping in on everyone.
