I keep watching DJ's downwinding videos at it looks a cool thing to try (thanks Man - l always watch them ). I'm just wondering how feasible downwinding will be on my 11'4 Naish Nalu all round board? I'm 100Kg.

Like any sub 12'6" board (and even including a few board styles bigger than that) the 11'4" Nalu can certainly be used for downwinding but you won't get the experience of endless glides that you see in DJ's videos. It would be more like a long distance paddle with the wind at your back. You might get an occasional drop if the wind is strong enough and the bumps are steep enough but overall, that board is just not quite suited for downwind.

Thanks.. I've owned the 11'4'' in the past and and so did many of my friends [great board] and we used to do downwinders on them all the time.. We thought they were a great DW board.. Now I know better.. These flat water and DW boards are at a whole different level.. The wave board shapes still work but are a bit harder and don't glide as well.. You will have fun though..

thanks guys, I guess that's what I expected... obviously I'll give it a go anyway, but at least I'll know not to get frustrated if I don't get those endless paddlefree runs 1st time

I've done a couple of small dwers on my 11'4'' nalu - as mentioned, not the pick of boards but good fun all the same.
