Hi WM74.. Welcome to the Breeze and I'm about your weight and I've paddled both 11'6" and 10'6" Kalama's.

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41295If I was to choose between the two I'd defiantly choose the bigger 11'6"..Although the smaller 10'6" floated me and was pretty stable I'd only buy the smaller board if I was lighter or just into the waves.
The bigger board will be more fun IMO and you will be able to do down winders on it and that's something that you will struggle with on the smaller board.
Good luck with it and let us know how you go.. If you do end up buying a Kalama try and get a new one with the hand hole to help with carrying it.
