Hey DJ the leggies do look good. I have just called Balin to get some in store asap, cheers Andrew @ RPS
That's great Andrew..and welcome to the Breeze..

.. It's great to have you guys on board here.
dtm.. Re
"that leggie looks sic anyone know where to pick one up in sydney northern beaches or are they just prototypes???"
No.. They're not just prototypes.. Any one selling Balin products (most surf shops) can just order one and it should just take a few days.
I like the idea of a coil leash and DaKine make a good one but if you happen to step back and on it it would feel huge under your foot and maybe cause you to fall.
These have all the coils hanging and the only bit that you can step on (if you did) would be the flat bit and not cause any problems.
It's great to be able to carry your board in and out of the water without the risk of tripping on your leggie..

That's gotta be one of the most embarrassing things to do.. and I've done it a few times..

Also.. Their rail-saver and rope combo is brilliant..

.. IMO

just curious, this is a good idea but why do you need a 10.0 leash on a down winder, surely a shorter leash even in this design would not drag in the water at all.this at 10.0 will still drag
Good point firstpoint..

..and here's what I think.
Because of the coiled section it's only 4-5' long and will stretch to 10' long.
If you have it too short you will not be able to carry the board in or out of the water as well because the leash will be pulling too tight.
We often stop and wait for others to catch up on our down-winders and you need to be able to sit on the board at the halfway point with legs hanging down.
When you fall you want to be able to fall away from the board and swim to your board without it pulling.
I've tried shorter leaches and the work ok when in the standing position but not in the other circumstances listed above.
I also wanted a leach that can be used for down-winders and in the surf as well.
I found this 6' coil / 3' straight about 6" too long for my 12' Glide because the end of it was just touching water but should be just about right for my new 14' Glide.
I'm going to order another with either 1' shorther coil or 1' shorter straight section.. The good thing about Balin is that they will make it however you want it.
