The Hawaiians have a cool take on SUPping. Kalama verbalises the vibe so well. Chambers on his site says a similar thing about SUP size and how it is basically not a shortboard.
What a great attitude and is spot on with his understanding of what it's all about. I know it's each to their own but I would rather see his style of surfing any day. Working with the ocean instead of the slash and turn hacking style you see so often.
Great vid , i love his style surfs with loads of power and flow.he is spot on too a sup can be a jack of all trades , ride the nose , hack and slash , style it or ride big waves.
Very cool! I wasn't a longboard surfer before but I bought a 10' Laird longboard sup a few months ago with the intentions of surfing it in knee to waist high waves only but I've had so much fun with it that I'm using it in bigger waves now too. (Now I'm on the prowl again for a good short sup that shreds.)
