Hi everyone,

I thought I would let you all know about my new SUPing website - www.CyberSUP.com

/images/misc/forum-image-missing.gif

I haven't set it up to make any money - I just want to share the stoke and my (limited) knowledge and experiences.

I'll make sure I post any new info to Seabreeze too - it's just that now you have a place to go to see all my stuff more easily.

I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions for improvement.

Casso.

Very nice Casso.. Well done.

My advise is... When its Summer time and you're wearing boardies make sure you're wearing undies...

I can see from that SuckerCam angle that you could get the odd danglie bits if you're not careful...

Good idea.
The rewiew completed with the video and photos (or just the links) would be more pleasant to read.

I was thinking the exact same thing, Pete and Lagoon. I'll fix up something around this soon. Thanks for the suggestion.

DJ, so my 80's retro shorty shorts are out then?

Thanks Piros. Many more eLearning lessons to come - on everything from the basics to advanced moves. Easy to follow, step by step stuff with animated illustrations. A little way off though as I want to do it right and I'm currently tied up with creating similar material for paying clients (but on much less interesting subject matter).

Thanks Champ. Heaps more videos to come too. Stay tuned.

Hey Casso,

Just a thought about your site, I'm pretty critical about these things because I've made hundreds of them for people for a living for the past 10 years. So these are just suggestions from experience.

You should have a home page?

www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=cybersup&e=com

resolves to

www.cyberlearn.com.au/sup/Review1.html

Which is just a review and there is no home page tab on the nav. A home page should just sum up what the site is all about. Also, please loose the blinking headlines - it's so 1997. You don't need a heading to flash - it just distracts you from reading the article below it.

Other than that, the graphics work for me, the nav works (apart from home page) and you have a good writing style.

Just a random thought, have you ever considered using a wordpress based site/software? wordpress.org/ I kind of think it would work well for what you want.

I just got my sucker cam from hong kong after months. Went to try it today for the first time to make a vid. Was looking for it for a while and then eventually discovered that the kids had already broken it

Thanks Oli. A nice home page which retains the proper URL is a good idea. I'll fix that up. What text is blinking? Bill from the Zone said that too but I can't see any blinking text nor did I intend any text to blink. Is it the green headings? It may have something to do with your browser reading that particular style tag. Are you on a Mac?

I'll have a look at Wordpress when I get back home (I'm in my caravan on my iPhone right now).

Good news on the sucker. Can't wait to see some footage. If enough people can get set up, I might organise a CyberSUP virtual surf contest where everybody submits a single, unedited wave which has been shot from a SuckerCam. I might be able to round up some prizes even.

yep, on a mac and firefox which is a standard compliant browser - it blinks. I hate html... shouldn't say that - with all the talk of the looming recession - times are probably about to change for me.

Thanks Oli. It shouldn't be blinking at you anymore. It was a CSS problem but, for some reason, didn't show up in IE. Please let me know if you still have issues.

Just had another look at your site - it's looking spot on now on my mac. I like how you've designed your flash player and the site is nice and clean with a good nav and sub nav. One other suggestion I have is that I would make it more interactive.... for example allowing others to maybe add comments to the video's and reviews or add a guest book. That way I would have added my thoughts there instead of here.

Great ideas Oli. I have plans of making it more collaborative - just need to find the time to add that functionality. It's still only a baby and has a long way to grow. Stay tuned.

Just going to ring my own bell here.... I recently won a gold award for a website I helped to develop: www.w3award.com/guidelines/terms-of-use/3/

It's the top one.

That's a beautiful site Oli. Makes my little fella pale in comparison. What do you use for your 3D design/animation?

There were several people working on that site for around 2-3 months, so it was kind of good to get some recognition for our work. Most of the images for the site came from overseas. I know the tyre shots in the game were just a series of photos taken at different angles, which we animated. However, the designers at work use Maya for 3D.

Hey Oliver,
real kind of you to share with Casso and Casso's lucky to have such a talented mentor. Tweaking and time are the keys to really succesful design.
Any time you want to use my images Casso feel free.
