New to this board, and new to SUPing. I was introduced to SUP by DJ. DJ, I'm the guy on the beach at Sandy on the day the girls were there. After trying a couple of boards, and listening to your advice, I bought a Kalama Southpoint. Thanks for the good tips!
I love my board. I paddle on the bay mostly around Williamstown, and have tried in the surf as well. Going back to the surf this weekend hopefully.
Last weekend I tried using my carbon fibre SUP paddle in my canoe (standing, of course). I have a 15ft Dagger Reflection canoe, and it worked a treat! It seemed much more efficient than paddling sitting down. I had to revert to a kayak paddle sitting down when it got windy.

Thanks Champcrow.
Paddle is a Southpoint Next. Got it with the southpoint board, as part of a deal.
I've also made one from an aluminium shaft and a plastic blade, but haven't tried it yet. I love the carbon paddle, it's so light.

DJ, thanks for those pics. No, didn't get on the water today. I'm thinking of a very early morning paddle tomorrow.
Yeah, we must arrange to do a surf paddle together one weekend soon. This w/e I'm off to Ballarat on Sat night, then maybe meet my son at Torquay on Sunday for a quick paddle. Being a surfer, he picked up this SUP stuff very quickly. I'm going to get a few pointers from him in the surf.
Would also like to catch up with you for a bay paddle.
