That's pretty interesting , they have put out some sh!t watches in the past but this looks good , lets hope they have sorted out the quality issues and it must be a battery eater so interested how they keep it charged.

So you still need to carry your phone around for it to actually work ?

Wouldn't you just check the 6" screen on your phone instead

Yep I have two Nixons in my drawer worth about $600 all up and both need a new battery every month or so........useless!
I do like the look of this watch and functionality but quality issues scare me.

possible the same way the Rip Curl watch is charged, which depending on use would mean every few session you would need to charged the battery that is used for the tracking etc, meanwhile the actual watch battery would keep on going. Having to use android would be a pain too

They will have done a good job if they have worked out a touch screen that can be used with wet fingers.

I wonder if it will go flat in 10mins like most gadgets do in the snow?
And weather it will be linked to Australian beaches and Mountains?Seems pretty cool tho.

The CNET review i read reckons it will last about 24 hours before it needs charging, which is pretty standard for a smartwatch these days, no mention of any specific beaches, mountains ect being loaded..

I love my Nixon time teller: a basic light watch with a safe band, readable without my glasses on. But they are definitely overpriced, by opening them I can see the exact same chinese "engine" as on 5 times cheaper (15€) generic waterproof watches.

I read that the nixon brand was the cash cow of Billabong, the only brand making money for the greedy shareholders controlling Billabong. Makes sense.

Nixon watches are a bit of a letdown. Two lodown tide watches have died after less than two years of use.
