Here's a new vid from last week in Hawaii when a shark bit a boogie-boarders leg and didn't like the taste of the flipper on his foot and let go without biting it off.

Gee thats one big MF'er of a hammerhead! I know these guys dont usually attack but you would fill your boadies if you saw it out in the water.

Happened right next to alot of the breaks we go to. My son knows this boy and he probably should not have been out there based on his skill level. Lucky for him the shark did not like the flipper. There are alot of shark sightings right in that area.

I know what you mean surfin over 20yrs only seen 2 sharks before I started stand up, now have seen double that in 3yrs of sup could be a good thing though cause they reckon its the one you dont see that gets you.Imagine the big bugger that bit this fat head in half boardy staining ****!!

Crazy! Lucky the boys were around to help him to the beach.

Sound not working on my computer, did they say what kind of shark? Guessing a Tiger?

I thought Hammerheads were pretty aggressive. At least in the top 5 or 10 or something?

that looks like near Kahului harbour around towards Wailuku.
Probably a tiger as we have seen a few over the years windsurfing the North Shore spots like Kanaha etc.

I am not bothered about the under 7' ters its the big mother f*#kers that I am concerned about I've had many sharks check me out years ago as a Pro diver even a 4mtr WhitePointer, male I think just checking me out. Now with paddle boarding Ive seen a couple of small ones but for piece of mind I got a Surf Shark sheild for the paddle board it does not get in of the way, So far it goes well haven't seen a bitey yet but its comforting to have as I paddle where Whites occasionally visit. If and when a white cruises in on me I will let you know the out come! Urhh I hope!

It will probably be the day you forget to charge it upA few sharks where about the spot i was holidaying , the local rag had a storey about a 350lb hammerhead caught close to a popular surfing spot.
