Hi,

I'm new to SUP and trialled a Fanatic All Wave 9 ft 10" board today in flat water. I had a great time and would love to give this a crack in small surf. The only thing I'm worried about is the price of purchasing this board.

I will be trialling the ECS Wide Boy 10ft in a couple of weeks. Both seem similar but I'm not sure if it's comparing apples with apples so to speak?!?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated on boards. I'm 6ft 2 and weigh 100kgs. Looking at spending no more than $1500 AUD.

Cheers,

Coastie

i can't comment on the Allwave but I do have a Wideboy, although it's a 9'5. I'm the same height and weight as you and the 9'5 floats me quite well, it's my first surf sup and I love it. Great board to learn to surf on. I used it on the flat water up at Nelson Bay this morning and it goes fine, very stable, but took a lot of effort to keep up with the wife on a 14' Glide!

Thanks for the feed back. Where did you get your wide boy from??? I'm excited as I'm trialling one in a fortnights time and am keen to compare.

Got it direct from ECS. Are you going to demo in the surf or flat?

Demo Day is on flat water at Carrington. Very much the novice re surfing a SUP, but am keen to give it a crack once I purchase a suitable board. I would like to be able to paddle on flat water still as my partner is keen to do this together. Just don't want to get pigeon holed only being able to paddle in flat water is all.

Thanks for your feedback. it's appreciated
