Hi, I have done a few lessons and have friends with boards here on the Gold Coast and in Sydney and now want to get my own board. I only want to use it for flat water, (have tried the surf and am hopeless), I am female , 172cm and 70kg. What sort of board should I be looking for and any suggestions for a good one on one coach to help progress with my paddling and maybe eventually get out in the surf, or group training sessions. I am on the Gold Coast. Any advice would be helpful

Hi Aspenella,

Welcome to the Breeze. You need to decide what you want to do. Do you want to paddle flat water and occasionally go in the surf or is your goal to eventually surf all the time. Once you decide that you will get a few more board recommendations. There are lots of Sup schools on the coast but I would recommend either Angie and Jacko at Roar Industries at Currumbin or Scotty at Greenline Paddle Surf, Mermaid Beach. Both will give you excellent lessons, advice and service. They will also have demo boards for you to try. Good Luck
