Issue 1.
My leg rope rail saver didn't do it's job and an exposed rivet on the swivel punched a hole in my new board . Hole is about half the diameter of a pea so pretty small but def capable of sucking in water. How should i fix? Fill it up with resin and talc??
(currently got some "hundred mile an hour" tape on it).

Issue 2.
Snapped my leg rope recently in v small surf and would like a tip on ideal leg rope length.. I was thinking on buying a 10 foot "Outer Reef" leg rope as advised in previous thread... Is 10 foot too long for a "gumby" SUPer like me?
(I can surf small stuff only up to 3 feet)

In advance- thanks soooo much for any tips/suggestions

Regards froggo

Hey Froggo,

If you didn't want to fix it yourself, Polsy at The Ding Shop does a good job for a reasonable price. 4/43 Hillcrest Pde, Miami 0404 804 498.

In small surf, legrope length is personal preference. I find long leggies get tangled around everything so I prefer shorter. I think I've got a 8ft leggie on my 9ft board. They tend to stretch after a while anyway. Creatures of leisure outer reef are good leggies. I've only ever snapped the string that ties the leggie to the board, never the actual leggie.

knead it is a two part epoxy filler, you can get from most hardware shops/bunnings. It comes in a sausage roll type arrangement. Easy to use and sand and good for small dings.

Other option for small dings is 5min areldite. Scuff the surface with sandpaper, use masking tape mix epoxy and pour into ding. Peal masking tape off before fully set or trim with razor blade.

I carry both these on surftrips to fix epoxy boards along witha roll of duct tape.

cheers

Yeah I've used the Ding Shop before and they do a good job at a reasonable price.

However, I always thought leggies needed to be longer than the board
