So sad to see this story in the paper this morning. This whale crossed my path at Kirra as i paddled back from snapper to currumbin yesterday around 12ish, it came up about 30m in front of me and i paddled out wide to avoid getting too close and it swan alongside me for a km or 2. I didn't realise it was so sick.
Well done to those who tried to rescue it.
