Hmmmm well the smile says it all!

I have to say this was pretty special, the day really reflected the true Spirit of SUP. I think everyone got real value out of the board swap, Niki got a truely awesome board, lacey gote a real challenge to play with, Dale absolutely go to show off his work and we all hadta great lunch ar growlers.

Dale left me with a Demo 9'4 that looks very sweet I will find out tomorrow.

PM me if you would like to take it out for a session.

I have to say I am also offering Niki a rental agreement but apparently I am 3rd in line

Me thinks this baby might just prone surf pretty well.

Note to others second board is a "Homer Board" works the kids as a sup and you as a big fish.

Can't argue with that. Sometimes situations just click. Meet a few good people, do a deal and everyone wins. Feels better than picking a popout off the rack imo - sweet looking board btw

As if it wasnt hard enough to get waves at OG with Kristi and Nesha paddling rings around me.....now theres gonna be three of them . Look forward to seeing Nikki ripping it up soon (and maybe I can sneak a go on the 9'4").

Hey Mac,

We got a day out of the box today and we are all pretty thankful it worked out that way.

I learned so much about downwinders and design and construction it has totally got me curious now! I feel like someone did a huge memory upload with a USB stick.

The passion theses guys have has to be seen to be believed.

Very Cool

Hey Mr Dogman,

We are gonna wax it up tomorrow and take it out for the launching after school. I have found some clear sea through grip in the states and I am negotiating to get it here without having to sell our home for the freight.

That I think is the real answer

Hey Oliver,

That makes me the only one without a custom SUP stick that surfs at this address.

But i do have several custom long boards so for the moment that will have to do.

You never know that too might change soon

The Steak sandwich was pretty damn good I must say.

They must have spiked the lemon lime and bitters as I remeber talk of surfing in boardies and rashies.

Or maybe I did really fall asleep

Hey Dogman Pics as requested.

The DC is very different to the Starboard 7.2 so we went back to the Barwon River to practice the basics.

Niki can paddle the DC 8 much faster than the 7.2 so will be able to get onto the wave much easier.

We practiced kick turns and thats when the small board really came into its own and she really got the hang of it towards the end.

The board is easy for Niki to carry at under 5.9kg

The Barwon is a really great place to train.

Check the Smile

Thanks again to Dale and Lacey you guys put that smile on Nikis Dial

Wanted my aussie pride spray job on the deck, but opt for the bottom as I like to have deck grip.

Looks great, lets see some pic's of you ripping it up Niki

BTW Is it quad or thruster

Sammy J, the board Niki was riding was much wider at 30 inches so we are having to work hard in stability with the 25 wide one but she got down pat by the end.

We are waiting for some fun 1 footers so she can have a go in the surf.

its currently 3 - 4 solid and she is only 8.

Clear Grip is on the way,

and it is a thruster.

What's the history, has she gone from 7ft starboard or similiar. Not much out there for kids so custom would be a good option, shaper would of had fun. Like a surfboard on steriods.

Hey Sammy J,

We swapped from a 7.2 x 30 x 5 ish SB to a custom 8 x 25 x 3 1/4 DC.

The new board is a real credit to Dale Chapman he really got the proportions right and it is truely a Kids SUP.

Hey Guys Paddles for kids is simply a nightmare.

The cheap ones like Southpoint , NeXXXt etc are way to heavy for them to lift and do crossovers.

The length they need changes every few months so adjustable is the go.

The adjustable ones including the Werner, C4 and Kialoa again with double sleaved shafts are way to heavy.

3 x $600 if you went Methane I dont think so.

I did buy a methane for Kristi but we cut it a little longer and it will last her a couple of years at least. The methane is the perfect weight and size for her and we will hand that paddle on.

The joys of being a dad
