Looks like I may go to Noosa late August so after any information I can get.

Can one hire gear there?

Out front of Noosa Surf Club.
You will only pay $25 an hour.
I had my 1st Sup there last October.
4 boards later the rest is history.
Maybe the local breezers could confirm if they operate in August.

hire out front of the Surf Club operates everyday and has plenty of boards to choose from

Check out the Sheraton if you have'nt booked accom yet. You would be surprised how cheap it is. Pay $20 per day and kids eat and drink anywhere in hotel all day. Best breaky buffet ever.
Also try Zacharys pizza down the road.
