With swell too big and out of control on the Gold Coast we stacked our 4 Sups on the roof of Simo's car and headed to Noosa at 4am.When we got to First Point at 6.30am and the carpark was full because of the sweet 3 foot waves rolling all the way through.(no one must work at Noosa)
It wasn't the big swell we were looking for but it was cranking , it was too overcast to film so we ripped the boards off the roof and bolted to water .Woogie was there and we followed him down the stairs with waves breaking on them , he made it look easy launching on the wave as it filled the stairs... all 4 of us tried to repeat his effort only to become entertainment to the crowd of onlookers as we all thumbed in the backwash
Some of the rides were over 100m and the legs were burning , we hit it hard for 3 hours and came in and had some breaky to refuel , I rang Danny Sheard Aussiewahine's Hubby and he said Point Cartwright was a solid 6ft , so we jumped in the car and made the 40km trip South.
When we got there it was solid and messy, Anthony grabbed the camera gear , myself Brett and Simo paddled out from the beach around the river mouth and out to the point , it was really confused seas with a heavy current and some solid sets were rolling through but we had it to ourselves. We lasted 2 hours but our legs were still burning from First Point and fighting the constant cross chop.
It was a 12 hour return trip , 5 hours of driving and 5 hours of surfing. Here are a few shots of the day.
Yeah that shot is definitely the pick Simo on his Ron House 10-6 , my mate Anthony Johnston (Tank) took these shots on my camera gear.I'm loving finally being in front of the camera for once.
Nice pics - how did you get the guy to stay on the beach & take pics?... My mates wont do that!
First pic is the winner of my vote, although she's bending at the waist a little bit excessively ... I'd be happy to give her some coaching - I would give her some excellent examples of extension & compression
Great snaps Piros. Is that a Ron House 9'10 you are riding, semi custom or other? Your buddy looks like he giving it the "Blue Steel" from Zoolander in the first pic. Live long and prosper!

Nice shots bro....anyone ever tell you that you look like Dermott Brereton
Mate I have almost been in fights because of Dermie , people would think I was being rude and lying too them , doesn't happen too much these days 5 to 10 years ago was the worst.
I'm riding a stock Ron House 9-10 quad (ole faithful) with T2's in front and AM2's in the rear , I've had this board in 8 foot +surf and it has never let go.
The camera gear in these shots is a Cannon 5DM2 with a 100-400 L series lens.
