Just been down to first point - awesome 3-5' peelers coming through - OMG its perfect BUT no SUP [}:)]
I have winged and complained to just about anyone who will listen (about running the SUP finals in knee high ripples when a swell was predicted for the weekend) and I think we may have at least got the message across
LOUD AND CLEAR. Apparently the contest driector is a keen paddle surfer, but with over 600 contestants there is no room for a SUP expression session today.

Matty (Lumley) has the right idea - he was going to prone paddle out into his OPEN MAL FINAL on his 9'3 ripper, his mate was going to throw him a paddle from first point and he was then going to
run the whole final on his StandUP! Yeah go Matty!!

But he made the mistake of running it past the contest director, which got a BIG 'N_O'!
Matt hits the water around 2pm and I think there is a live feed if you want to watch him in the OPEN FINAL.
ON a lighter/darker note we have been catching up with DOGMAN for some serious night surfing off first point every night till 8.30pm. Last night he turned up with a Torch taped to his Helmet -
pure DGMAN style!
Everyone leaves the water (except a couple of young MAL riders who have caught on) and we start playing!! Your sitting there in the pitch black thinking 'what the $^%&*' am doing out here!

Then you sense a set, hop on and the whole wave lights up down the line from the lights from Noosa waterfront - awesome experience with hoots from the shoreline from curious onlookers - then its straight back out again to stare into the blackness. BRAIL surfing is an addictive pastime!
Its a bit of a layday today as you can clock up to 7 hours in the surf here without a problem as it is a 20 min paddle out to Granites - the least crowded break. We will hit it later when the crowds subside.
Thats it from me. Over and out.
