I've freighted boards on Virgin..its about 160 each way....gotta pick up and drop it off at the airport both ends
Yep but gotta be Virgin - Jetstar were persecuting a bloke saying that the max they would take was 2m

Seriously just book your flights with virgin and then it will all be included. Thats what we should have done. Rose saved $50 on airfares but then had to pay $158 in frieght. Virgin freight were excellent though and I would recommend them.
But if you book the flights with them you will get your board in for nothing. You may need too travel light - but I guess you are planning to by the sound of yr boardies comment! Call Virgin to confirm - but that is what they told us over the counter whilst booking the SUP in as freight. We tried to buy her a Virgin flight at the airport instead - as it was cheaper than freight - but sadly the times did not work out.
Enjoy. I love those points up there.
