I've freighted boards on Virgin..its about 160 each way....gotta pick up and drop it off at the airport both ends

I flew Jet star and the max they take is 1.9 meters as they only juuuust let my 6'6" short board on after some negotiations. My mate with a 6'8" didn't get his on. Don't bother with SUP's on Jet star- short boards are hard enough it seems: aint worth the headache.

There was bloke at Bingin last year w little kid on board on the outside who did same stuff. Stood on head too.

You can also try ringing Australian Air Express. Not sure what they charge. Or you could google them. They are located out on the Eastern End of Tulla, past Qantas and Jet Star. So if you were going to use them, you drive through the arrivals area, and onto Aust Air Express. Drop off, do the paper work, credit card etc. Then you can come back and drop you car in Long Term. Or you could get dropped off at Air Express, and then walk back to Tiger, or get dropped back at Tiger. From memory, Tiger is the extreme other end of the air port facilities though !!

Tiger is also coming to Avalon (Melb). The airport has several new bays under construction right now.

Noosa Longboards have a 10'0 Bongo Perkins I think. A 10'0 something else. Ring them. They have a selection of malibu's also, that you can swap between. $150 for the week. Their paddles didn't look flash though.... BYO paddle !!

I would hope Blue Water Players even have an option for you to borrow a big open water cruiser, for touring. Plenty of touring options around Noosa if the surf is too small.

Thanks Simondo - that's great. I'm pretty sure Aust Air Express were the ones who were $300 each way. They were nice enough about it.

The interesting thing is that I've been in touch with one particular shop in noosa who can send a board from there to Torquay for $105!

cheers.....and brrrrrrr. Surf was good here yesterday with air temp of a balmy 9.5 degrees til lunchtime. Maybe I'll do a review soon of my new patagonia steamer. Warm as toast.
