Yes, he is a hypocrite. In the position of politician, he sold out against everything he sang about. I hear ya and can't disagree one bit. Unfortunately, he is our farkin 'local' member. I was at the rally to protest him becoming our 'local' member. Lives in Bowral which is over 2 hrs drive away.
Still like his early music though.

he went into politics thinking he could make a difference but learnt very quickly that it's easy to make a lot of noise when your a celebrity but extremely hard to bring radical change into the dirty, rotten, palm greasing world of politics. he was used by the rudd government to win a seat by competing in a popularity contest, ordered to be a scapegoat for the insulation debacle and then forced to tow the party line when it came to his views on environmental issues. sell out? he was sold out.

Was one of my favorite bands growing up.the old PLAY ROOM on a Sunday night would often have bands like Midnight Oil,Inxs and many other bands who became massive. Entry on a Sunday night was all of one dollar.

In the end they all sold their soles and became mainstream just like U2.

Everyone thinks Head Injuries was The Oils first album but only true fans knew Surfing With A Spoon was their first.

I never argue politics. Too many people are set in their ways. I like stirring up the greenies tho. I watch their faces turn red with anger when I tell them "I wash my paint brushes down the sink" (I really don't) and explain that "it's only a bit of paint heading out to a big ocean". And I ask them what difference would it make if I don't recycle ?That'll fark em.
