I'm a bit pissed-off right now.

Last night I got home late and just wanted to get to bed.. My daughter reminds me that I'd get the Christmas tree out and help put up the lights etc.

I said yeah, yeah.. we'll do it tomorrow.. and went to bed.

This morning I get up.. still half asleep.. and walking past the lounge room I see our cat on the couch and she sits up and gives me a meeeoww.

How could I not give her a pat.. Half way across the lounge room floor (btw I'm still limping a little from paddling with a cramp in the race) when all of a sudden I feel this pain like I was walking on drawing pins.. I staggered around doing the ooh!..ehh!..ahh! and fall over only to have more pain in my hands and hip.

I was now laying in a mine field of sharp pointy things.. I look and see blood dripping from holes in my feet and hands... Bugger!!! .

My daughter had un-tangled some Christmas lights and spread them out on the floor waiting for me to hang them in the window.. It was still pretty dark with the blind down and I had not seen them scattered over the floor.

DJ.. (not happy Jan)

I thought I better go to the doctor and have my cuts checked out and little did I realise the real pain was yet to come as he poked and picked in all the holes looking for bits of plastic.. Yeeeeow!!..

He also looked at my leg and said that I had a tear in my monkey muscle.. Jeez I didn't even know I had a monky muscle.. http://www.australiandoctor.com.au/patient/torncalfmuscle.pdf

Yeah I agree.. I think my cat knew.. [}:)]

another soleful tale

My daughter and I were paddling on the swan Sunday morning working our way up towards Point Walter from East Freo . Not much wind..a beautiful morning out..sat on the spit having a chat and realised the wind was picking up..really blowing
a head wind.....decided to give it a go....got halfway back and bailed..so end up carrying our boards and paddles on the concrete path through the Pt walter Reserve..
..barefeet....the concrete felt really hot ....Finally got to the end..and realised out feet were somewhat sore...and feeling very tender.
To cut a long story short..On Monday we were both nursing blistered feet and hobbling round like
people walking on broken glass..or (wait for it )
christmas decorations

Ouch!
Add me to the list of injured - torn hamstring from hockey match - grrrrr!
My 2 lads leave bits of lego on our Afghan rug - perfect camouflage.
I thought caltrops stopped being used when we stopped fighting on horses, seems our kids are learning something in history!
