Hi Guys just a short note to let you know that the Olympus 770 waterproof cameras dont survive solid wipeouts. Last night when I opened mine after a solid session it was full of salt water [}:)]. Never mind we all learn from our mistakes.

Hope this saves someone else some heartache.

That's a bummer Phil... Is the card ok?... Did you still get the pics?

Try your luck with the warranty.. I know a few that have had their's replaced.

Phil,I has the same thing with my Olypus camera, but I was only swimming with the kids.I then got a FUJI splash pack kit, camera with w/proof housing. It was great since Christmas, but diededed last Friday when wifie and I were snorkelling. So I got on the net last week and found the cheapest "GOPRO"got it Tuesday, took it out for a surf yesterday morning,no big wipe-outs or anything, and it leaked as well.
So it got sent back to the supplier for replacement.
Man,cameras,if I had any hair I would have pulled it all out!!!!!!!!! GOPRO are the best from all accounts, but as usual I got a dud, friggggggggggggggin

Thanks Guys,

This cam is well past warrantee date so no luck there. I have a great panasonic vid with a 42 x zoom so will have to do things form the shore for a while.

Its a pitty because I am working with Heather Peck tomorrow (surf / sup coach) and we wanted to take shore shots as well as foot positioning from the board.

We use the Heazone Helmets so we can talk to people real time as they do the manouvres, it takes half the time to get things right that way.

I will talk to Gopro today but after buying the new stick the larder bear said goldilocks lol.

Or of course there is the divorce thing!!! Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

Despite the warranty running out I would definitely follow up.

Had a similar problem with mine recently and the supplier here in Perth was pretty quick to get it sorted out - no charge as it was obvious one of the seals had gone.

We had all manner of grief from Olympus, and their agent, now known to us as"The Bad Guys",even though ours was only a month old.
Phil,Simon Dodds has GOPRO at a really competitive price at the mo.Hes your man!!!
