Well after the totally crap week I have had at work, dont ask you wouldnt believe it I just had to get out today or take a long long walk of a very short pier.

So dose up on the anti inflams add a few panadiene forte and go go go!

PRK was pumping out some boss waves, so Mr Chompy was dusted off add an 11 1/2 yacht keel in for stability as I havent paddled in 9 weeks and with Nesha's helmet on to add a fashion statement we hit the point.

The 1st wave i caught was OH+ 400+m long and a total smoker.

Heading down the line.

This is a pic of Mr Chompy being given some serious incentive to head back to the white water.

In that one wave rusty as I was I had a huge smile plastered all over my face.

Both Kristi and I caught several cranking waves and I have to say it was the best session for a long long long time.

The F@#$ing Go Pro fogged yet again in 28 deg heat, have I said I believe this camera is a total piece of crap! I just dont like to be vague. 12 frames out of 1200 were usable. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr[}:)][}:)][}:)]

Dean, Rich, Ronnie, Adam, Jarrod etc etc all go thier fair share what an afternoon.

Phill

Hey Lacey,

The Paddle Surf Hawaii 12 Ft gun rocks! I cant wait for next winter.

I really shouldnt have been out there but, it really was a must do.

Trust me when I went for the wave people knew it was my wave and the red sea parted lol.

For the amount of people out it was really good humoured.

Dean was taking off so close to the rocks he almost had to bunny hop out of the bay.
I think I saw him picking barnakles out of his back side at one point.

But an awesome day was had by all

Great to see you back out there, ripping it up, Phill. Does this mean you are good-to-go for Mambo?

Do you load the GoPro into the case in front of an airconditioner vent? Works a treat for me.

Hey Mick,

Since I saw you guys, my bottom has been up in the air and my head has been down literally 24/7 with the Melb Cup and Other projects.

I am paying for today but I still have a stupid wooo hoooo grin!

Dean there were a few people surprised to see me out to say the least.

The blue helmet had them fully confuzzeled, might just become a fixture.

Hey Camo,

I just couldnt help myself it wrapped the point smashed a few near the point ran wide and I figured go hard or go home.

It was weird, the body was saying go go go, but the mind was playing a few games. I was pretty careful really and not pushing too hard especially on Mr Chompy AKA the "Widow Maker" he really bites lol.

Hmmm I would have said 20 - 30+ surfers at the point, 10 in transit and 300 - 150 people on the sand maybe.

On a January sunny day you could x up to 10 on that I think. Ask Yoda!

Hey Casso,

Mambo Hmmm Kristi and I will be there but I have pulled up pretty stiff and sore but with a huge silly grin.

I would really want to ride the DC 9'4 I just love that board to bits, but I am way too rusty to do that in side chop etc and compete with 100 other guys for a wave.

If I do go out it will be on Mr Chompy but more than likely with the camera but yet to decide if I will compete. Rich AKA "My Mum" will be the voice of reason I trust his judgement!

It has taken a lot to get to here so not going to be silly.

Even at OH PRK is a pretty safe wave and very very predictable thats why I took the chance the risk was managable.

The Go Pro,
Casso, I have filmed in water, under water etc etc and never had the issues I have had with this camera. I have loaded it hot cold, dry air you name it, I can only assume the housing must leak and a fine vapor gets in at this point as none of it makes any difference.

Regard

Phill

Hey Robdog,

Thanks it was a sweet afternoon, was fabulous to be back in the water.

The PSH 12fter isnt as stable as the DC 9'4 lol, but it does get in early and it is very sure footed and nimble on a wave.

I cant wait for next winter on this baby!

PRK turned it all on again today, there were some nice sized ripples and more than enough for everyone. I felt a really good vibe from all the people out, felt like a couple of hundred people at the beach just lapping up the clear water and the sunshine. I couldn't think of a better place I'd rather be at today.

yeah, it was great seeing Big Phil back in the water again to say the least. I could hear him the minute I got into the water and once I got over seeing him in a helmet it was easy to see he was fully stoked.

Also, I didnt get out of the water until about 1830 and the swell was picking up by the minute! There was a pretty steady supply of 1-2' OH happening both at the point and further inside. There was 3-4 guys who showed up on Foamies (G-Boards) and absolutely shredded! I honestly would have hated to have seen these guys on fibreglass. And to top it off they were all very cool in the water, were having a blast and sharing the stoke.

I didnt hear/see any grief from anyone in the 3 hours or so I was at PRK which was great as there were so many people out. Yes, I had two near misses (me getting nearly cleaned up by someone on a wave) and both times the surfers stopped to see if I was ok.

I noticed a couple of guys on SUP's taking off on the shoulder of the main peak-no probs with that. Just make sure you look inside and ensure noone is going to make the section you're taking off on. We dont want to create an us/them situation..............You guys know who you are

Great catching up with everyone! I'm off to abay this evening for a couple of days, so here's to hoping the wind stays down and the swell stays up!

Hey Ronnie,

I guess I was pretty excited and the yahooooooooooooooos were flowing pretty freely.

I have to know, how did you go on the Naish Slayer???????

Watchin you screaming down the line that day on the Banana at Damo's rediculous smile plastered all over your face is etched in my mind foreever. You were in stand up heaven.

If I could have hung around I would have been back out there with you, your a blast to have in the water.

Yep, the Naishinator was the call for me out there. I just wasnt stable on the PSH with the wash coming off the rocks..........but enjoyed it on the inside! The Naishinator and I got our fill over the next couple of hours, so all was good.

It was such a funny day and there were different peaks to be had. I only caught up with Oliver on the phone on the way home as we never crossed paths in the water.

Stoked you are back in the water Mate! It's nice to have someone else who likes to make some noise and have some camaraderie happening in the water.

If your seal is dodgy, would Vaseline help? (the camera)

NEVER use vaseline on a camera seal .... only use silicon grease the vas breaks down the rubber.

All cameras will fog up in those conditions (hot air and cooler water), try what Casso said or just paddle in for 5 mins and open it and let it cool , all this is well covered by Rambo in his threads on the Go-Pro.
