What does this board retail for?And would it make a decent stock class racing board?I am keen to buy a racing down wind board and maybee this would fit the bill.Any advice please! At 38 years old and with a body battered by years of footy im not thinking of being a serious racer but just want something that will allow me to be competitive and aslo good for some cruising and maybee for catching some bommies!

Cheers

I had a look at it for an all-rounder type board. I think it would be good in a honking downwind but I'm not sure how competitive it would be against dedicated racing board. It looks like it would be in the upper speed category for a 'surf'-style SUP but I think the proper designed downwinds would be better.

Though tbh I have not ridden one.

Thanks , i think the stock class at 12'6 and under it would probably go o.k maybee as good as the Naish glide. But what is appealing about it is the versatility it may offer.

IMO.. Catching bommies.. For sure..

As far as a race board or down-wind board I can't see it working well unless you're less than about 60 kgs.

I can't wait to try one myself but if it's anything like the Naish 11'6" gun it's going to work great on a wave but not so good on flat water.

I use it as a downwind board and it is fun. You won't win any races but you won't come in last.....

A customer awhile back showed me one if these he brought back from hawaii. To me the rocker is too flat for serious big wave charging in which he agreed. In the end we shaped him a triple stringer 10'0 pintail more accustomed to aussie conditions.

"To me the rocker is too flat for serious big wave charging "

Uhhh... OK... I'll post some pics of not so serious big waves when I get back to Hawaii. I guess the board hasn't been out in waves as serious as you ride. You guys must be charging GIGANTIC waves! On a 10' board too!!! Wow. Mind if we see some pics?

Hurry up Andrew.. We're still waiting.. Tell us how she goes and how well it floats you..

That's one beautiful looking board and you did do a great job on the deck grip.

I think we need a few more pics.. Any chance of getting one down here for the OG13 day?

Maybe Lumers new board?.. I'm sure Matty won't mind us all demo'ing it..

Aussieshaper, Not picking on you but I only think the rocker works because, well... It's been tested. Mel Pu'u, Ikaika Kalama, Haley Fiske all charged bombs on it and have faith in it.
But hey, the cool thing about shaping your own stuff is you do what you like. I believe our rocker works and you think they don't. That's OK. We'll keep surfing them and having a blast in the mean time...

I have to say when I first saw Blanes boards I was very sceptical about the rocker too, it does appear relatively flat. That was until I got to play with them!

I dont surf big waves by his standards but His 11 Wide AA, 10'6 Wide AA and 9'6 Wide AA easily handle 1.5 OH+ for me. The bigger it gets the better the boards go!
I chicken sh!t out way before the board gives up lol but I am an old sook!

This is a frame out of one of our vids showing me using Blanes PSH 10'6 wide's local bombie chasing! I know its not that big but its a pretty solid wave and I guess it does show the board performing in local Aussie conditions.

I would have loved to have had another 2 ft of board on some of the waves that day just to get in earlier. Sign me up for a 12fter please.

Here's a few pics of a blue one:

And after a bit of deck gripping:

I've just back from a 3 hour session on it at a little novelty break inside Pittwater. One foot, a little windy but the 12'0" was the perfect board for the conditions. I know it's a gun and is made to surf big waves - but it also rips in tiny surf too.

It paddles a dream and get's onto waves so easy. Super fun.

WOW!

Just had one of the FUNNEST sessions in one of the best NOVELTY waves I have ridden in a long time. With 6m seas and 3 knot winds there are not many places you could get a wave in Sydney today.

Everyone was out - CASSO, GOATMAN, LOCOs, MESSUP, TOM.C, BRUCE RAYMOND among up to 20 others in long walling 1-3' faces. 200m rides were on hand - loving life!

I guess you could call it the inaugural gathering of the SYNDEY PADDLE SURFING CLUB.

It wasn't a powerful wave - you could get 2-3 people all riding together 10 meters apart - just a fun wave basically! Waikiki style!

The 12' GUN was the perfect board as the line length really helped carry you through, but not enough juice to really test it. Suffice it to say the board turns as you would expect and has amazing glide. I'll let CASSO do the proper review.

Now I am seriously jealous,

That just fixed the one thing I dont like about PSH boards!

When do you expect to get the new girl out in some bigger play territory??? I dont think 1 - 2 ft does it justice lol.

Oh and you need to bulk up Casso I think that Austin fights is a different class to you

Video Please!

Yeah AA, I'll second that. No where in all of Sydney to surf (except maybe crowded Harbour) and here we were having a ball next to waterfront houses in Pittwater - bizarre! Hey I even got a quick go on TC's custom!!

Casso & AA looked like they was havin a blast on the 12 footer, it turns unbelievable for a big rig. Smiles on everyone's faces allround!

Cool board.
Would have taken some time to grip up.

Blane's 12 foot design,
Can't even imagine surfing waves that size on a 12 foot board so I am not sure how aussie shaper knows about 12 foot gun rocker? Like tow boards, pretty specialised, and to add to that, I am blown away how little the rocker is on a tow board has so I am not suprised that a 12 footer is flatish also.

Surprisingly OK.

The 12'0" Gun is a similar shape to my 9'3" Ripper - just streeeeetched out a lot. Obviously the Gun is a lot tighter but I was doing similar turns as what I can do on my Ripper, albeit a lot more drawn out, slower and less critical.

I fell off a few times when I was expecting it to pull around back under my feet but it just kept going straight. It was my first surf on it though so overall, a pretty easy transition.
