What happened to the C4??

Depends on:

Experience
Skill
What you want to do surf or flat water
Longboard or shortboard feel
Big waves or small waves
Etc etc

At 105kg I ride a 9 6 Ripper when it is clean.

I would highly recommend the PSH 9'6 wide Allrounder for you if conditions are mushy.....if mostly clean go the ripper.

Here its a hard one' for conditions as one day could be clean and the next a bit rough, Wind in the summer is a bugger.

Have not looked into the ripper but sounds verry much a expert board. Im lucky if i can stand up right for 5 min.

If your just starting out im with Hilly go the 10'6 for sure , ride it for 12 months then consider the 9'6.

10'6 still is a ripping board for ALL conditions.

I think the 9'6WAA is wider than the 10'6 i thought width was better than length I also dont want to buy two boards.

Hey mate for whats its worth i have the PSH 10.6 aa one of the original hand glassed boards and it goes great in all conditions , a pretty decent flat water paddler too.And the boards are pretty tough and durable as well. And if you want some variety from what i read on the forum mixing up the fins can make a big difference although im yet to try this.Im about your weight and i find in mushy windy conditions im sometimes the only sup out , cause the small boards im guessing are not much chop in these conditions.

Cheers
Andrew

Is there anywhere in NZ you could demo a 9'6 WAA or anything similar diamentions?

Correct the 9'6WAA (29 3/8) is wider than 10'6 (28 3/8)

You mention your falling off a bit , what are you paddling and for how long??....still think the 10'6 might be your best option.

PSH boards are not available here. And no boards with such dimentions

We only realy get naish and the surftech range but they are all narrow or verry long.

Just went into Blitz Surf Shop in Gisborne they got a brand new 10 foot Bonga Perkins with paddle for $1300...sure a challenging board in choppy conditions but very rewarding on a wave...i would be in there buying it except I've already got one lol

Hey Boarder Paul,

All new PSHs have handles as far as I am aware. There is also a retro fit handle for those that dont have one.

I have 2 without handles a 9'6WAA and a 10'6WAA, take one for a surf and then see if the handle matters.

This is a 10'6WAA in action at Bells, I love ripping bottom turns on this board as you can literally carve out chunks of wave.

The handle does matter to me. The board i was about to buy does not = Old stock

You metion see if it matters?? Im sure you would like a handle I do live next to the beach but its still a walk and i prefer a handle rather than throwing it over my shoulder for the walk.

Like one Yup I would. It would cost me $40 AUD per board to fit handles to my boards lol and I still havent dont it!

But if I had to choose between board performance and handle there is no choice IMHO!

If the handle is that significant you dont need a PSH there are many other boards that will suite you down to the ground in the Naish, Starboard, C4 range etc etc etc!

The C4 Subvector you were originally looking at has a handle and by all reports is an awesome board.

Hey BP...I recently purchased two PSH Sups - a 9'6 WAA and a 11' WAA, both without carry handles. I'm an old coot at 55 y/o - no probs with either boards. If your really concerned about carrying the board you can do as others have suggested - retro fitting a carry handle internally on the board or external stick on handle. Other option is to make up a shoulder sling out of webbing strap. Cheap, you can leave it hidden on the beach...if it gets nicked it hasn't cost you much and at worse you'll have to carry it back to the car/house. Make two so you've got a spare.

Hey DJ....another two weeks, going up the wall Thank goodness for Seabreeze to keep me sane. Geez some of the stuff I have been reading has been very entertaining to say the least.

Question: I wonder if all the PSH guns arriving soon have been pre sold. Seems a lot of breezers are going gangbusters over it....not that I blame them. Checked out US of A forums...same thing there.

Not too long before I'm back in the water

Hang in there Pete and join us for a paddle once you're out.. The weather's crap so you're not missing much..

That PSH GUN is a great looking board.. Do you have room at your place for three boards..

Great gun pics here.. www.standupzone.com/forum/index.php?topic=3889.0

DJ..my son is adamant that I get a gun as he now has got the SUP bug. Took him down to HSQ not long ago and he was positively frothing

I'll just have to get rid of the six longboards to make room

Why does dad have to buy everything

That handle stired the pot Im more worried about the right size.

I was settled on the 10'6 but was recomended by the shop to go for the 9'6WAA

Don't let them push you smaller than your comfortable with. It sounds like the 10'6 is more suited to the waves and conditions you are going to be using it in. Both the 10'6 aa and wide aa get very good reviews and sound more versatile than the 9'6 waa imo.

Hi, Yes the 10'6 AA is what i wanted. Then the seed was planted when i was told why not the 9'6WAA its just as stable and will surf better.

I only want one board and will more or less only be surfing it. Im not all that keen on flat water runs. I will only use the flat water to find my feet, Then im into the surf 90 percent.
