I think we all forget to consider height when rating board stability. A short heavy guy is twice as stable as a tall heavy guy.
For SUP, I wish I was shorter. Those little rippers would be way easy to surf.

I often wonder when I watch Goatie and Dogman surf I ever wonder if I can get my 90kg, 186cm to surf like that!
Goatie actually paddled this board into second place at the Mambo Beach to Bar in November.
No doubt his paddling technique played a major part but you can really get this board moving on flat water/rolling waves & chop.
It is
12' x 28 7/8" x 4 3/4" 173LIt now weighs in well under 12kg.
Matt Granger our local big wave legend recently Surfed German banks (1.5k off Long Reef) on his, at 15' a few weeks back. Apparently the new Quad option 'rules' when the board goes into mach speed when talking the big drops. More stable, less drag. 5 fin boxes retain the Thruster option as well.
