Some of the guys from Jamie Mitchell School of Paddle and Surf entered the Coomera Cup last weekend and were pretty stoked with the event on theirs SUPS.

They feature at the start/finish and at various times during the video.

Thanks for sharing the vid!
Experienced my first SUP race and actually first attempt at SUP'ing a race board. (I am the one in the vid who almost fell off at the start.) Was a very well organised and fun event to be part of. Need to do some serious training before the next one.

Agree, the series is all about bring people from other disciplines like flatwater paddlers etc and slowily introducing them to Ocean Paddling, whether that be SUP, OC1 or ski.

More people on the Ocean , more people to realize how precious it is and look after.

Byron Bay is Ocean DJ, out to Julian rocks. http://www.pacificoceanseries.com/events-long-course/byron-bay.

Runners on race day?? Wouldn't that be perfect if it was every time. But reality is, the best downwinds paddles are always going to be training runs outside of racing, at least in this country anyway.

Cheers R

Thanks for posting the vid Rambo!

The Great thing about the Byron Race is the view for spectators. The race is also a good intro to some surf/downwind competition.
