Twilight race this Friday at 5.30 meet at Mona vale basin may do a downwind course judging by the forecast conditions. Starboard S.U.P are bringing heaps of demo boards along so come down and try one out. $10.00 Entry includes race post race bbq and drinks and the chance to socialise with the S.U.P "elite" of the northern beaches.
For those that dont realise the "elite' line is a joke among a couple of people, sorry for any confusion there is certainly no elitism allowed just a friendly crew of paddlers blowing of the working week. So come along and join us.
Well Dave I was thinking of starting with a couple of laps along the cliffs at Warriewood maybe coming in through the small surf a couple of times then back out to the point turn left and finish with a downwind run to the Basin. That could make for an interesting race, what are your thoughts?
ok the call has been made for a downwinder from Fishermans to the Basin. All meet at Mona vale basin at 5pm for a car shuffle trailer run etc, start racing at 5.30 Finish for a bbq and a beer pick up the cars on the way home. I will organise a short downwinder from Warriewood for any beginners that arent comfortable doing the 7 k's from Longy if we have the numbers. Check back here at this time tomorrow for final details.
Hey guys. Just confirmed with Kev that (assuming the wind stays solid south which is looking likely) that the Race will be from Fishermans to MV Basin. Meet at 5 for a race start time of 5.30. Best meeting place is the Toilet Block near the flag stick. Looks like it will be fun without being too hectic. Just a note on safety. For downwinders it is good to wear a colour the stands out (eg. yellow). cheers Dave And Goaty - good luck up there!

Ok It is Looking good for a downwind race for those that want it. Met at Mona vale beach carpark at 5 or at Longy reef toilet block at 5.30 Kissa is in charge of the start. Paddle out to the point for a good lone and then WHOOSKA! first one to the basin wins a voucher from D.S.D. I will hold a triangle race in the basin for all others. Ian from Starboard will be there at 5 ish.
