Hi guys, I have some very close mates, who's teenage daughter is fighting Leukemia at the moment, and they are really doing it tough.

I was sitting down last night thinking about what I could do to help them. They are just a regular fam that need some help in a really bad time.

So on the 19th of this month, I am going to do a 2 hour paddle course on Narrabeen lake. Although I am not a charity, and this wont be a official "event". If you want to join me, I thought of just having a $10 optional paddle fee, and all of it will go to Sam's parents to help them out. You are more than welcome to give more if you feel to.

I am going to invite Sam's parents down there, and her brother and sister as well.

It would be truely epic to get a good crew down there.

Let me know if you can make it, or if you would like to support them in any way.

Her mum's blog addres is girlonaswing.wordpress.com/

regards,
Pete

I'd like to make a donation to you Pete. I'll send you an email and get some details from you of where to send it. If I lived down there I'd be there for the paddle.

Mate if I wasn't working I'd come from Cronulla to support you ,..... The best I can do is put some money into your account ,so can you get in touch and I'll fix it up.

I wish the family all the best in these tough times.

Count me in Pete. My shoulder should be just about right for a bit of flatwater paddling by then and what a great cause for getting back on the board.

great mate, hope you will be fighting fit by then. I reckon we will shoot for a 10am start. As my wife thought a 9am start was too early :) with kids i am up at 5.15am every day anyway. So 9am is midday almost ha

Looks like it is going to be a great day. And I have to say a massive thanks to everyone for you support so far. It has been awesome.

The plan is this:
Arrive at around 9.30am, for a 10am start.
Place: Jamieson Park Narrabeen Lake, off the Esplanade.
Donation to paddle: $10
End of Paddle: BBQ at the end of the paddle, proceeds going to Sam's family.

Cheers,
Pete
