Inspired by Scubasim this morning. Lots of people are paddling with music now days.

What do you have on your play list for training / racing or cruising??

Mine is not necessarily what I listen to in general but more for the purpose of motivation: High Tempo and Heavy.

Arctic Monkeys
Foo Fighters
Grinspoon
Kyuss
The Living End
Metallica
NoFX
Pantera
Queens of the stone age
Rage against the machine
Rollins Band
Sunk Loto
Tool

Other than the Arctic Monkeys and one or two others that looks like my favs from 1998 era!!! Although you missed Janes Addiction. I must say though these days I am still loving empire of the sun despite it being thrashed on my ipod........and that powderfinger "golden rule" album. Yeah nothing on Pantera and Tool etc but I am older these days and my ears need a rest.

Hahaha. Ted and Chrispy. Funnily enough Suicidals, Black Flag and Janes Addiction are on my Iphone as well.

I guess we are all still living in the 90's.

Those bands come up if I am lazy and just do the Genius button.

I find that when I am concentrating on a wave or the like the music kind of dissapears into the background and it's no different.

Once you have done some distance with it I find I can actually concentrate on paddling more rather than thinking about what's for lunch or whatever. Just zone into the music, forget the aches and pains or huffing and puffing and before you know it you've gone twice as far and faster than usual.

Same as going for a run, I will do about 2 k's before I get bored and stop with no music, with music I have to remember to turn around.

Bought my H20 case from the Apple shop at Robina. Got the waist extension as well as way more comfortable and got the waterproof headphones from Woody on this forum.

It's a great set-up, dear as poison though. All up about $250.

i've always reckoned you wouldn't be able to hear a boat coming or a shouted warning. same as snow skiing- what if somebody was asking for help?
cheers

ps if you need music while you are snow skiing i reckon you've got problems

"row row row ya boat gently down the stream merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream" who needs an mp3 when you can sing that in your head or out loud amongst the shortboarders inthe line up.
