I had a bit of fun today paddling that odd looking new 10'10" board from the 2012 Naish range.. It was a cold and crappy day here in Melbourne today but I did manage to find some protection from the freezing cold wind by paddling along the cliffs near Mentone.. Can't wait for Summer to return.

Nice board!! Im going surfing probably coul use the extra length for the predicted 4 metre swellls!! I hope there's a sheltered corner somewhere and that Sparx, OG or Simondo take some photos. (Hopefully not of me drowning)

Perfect for headstands, actually looks like a really good stable flat water board for cruising.

I like the heavy channel concept. Should really help the learners to go straight!

Leroy,
There's a bank down at Torquay Sailing Club that gets some protection.

Expect a heavy sweep on most points today. But the sweep works in favour of your safety! It will just push you towards the beach... down the beach... Except at Winki on High Tide, it will push you towards The Cave !

It's super stable and has good glide for a wide board.. It also tracks extremely well.. This will be a great learner, flatwater, paddling with kids or big pets, and fishing board.. I had a ball on it.. Even though it's winter and I didn't want to fall into the cold water this board felt as solid as a rock and safe to paddle.

It's a demo board the The Zu shop here in Melbourne if anyone wants to take it for a spin and check it out for themselves.

Thanks Simondo, I ended up gutlessing out at PRK the swell nearly completely missed it because of the westerly in it. I might try Torquay sailing club tomorrow. Fishos had around twenty guys out before dawn and there were two guys catching mush burgers at Cosy Corner. Cathedral Rock was just amazing to watch. Super tubes was working but strangely no one was out Browny, Case and the other big wave boys might have been playing at Massacre bay. It was supposed to be ten metres down that way.
