Because they couldn't have the Victorians win the first Beach to Bar SUP race they arranged a paddle off with the top six teams for the next day.. (Sunday) ..

John explained that it would now be a triangle course that would go out through the surf and around a buoy, then along to another buoy and back to the beach.
Our race started with my 12' Glide going missing.. They were about to start and Lumers and I were running around searching for our board.
To our surprise it ended up under a whole lot of stuff where the Queenslanders hang out... Funny about that..

.. At least they didn't take the fin off..

And they're off and racing.
Lumers using my Glide was in red.
Lumers was doing what Lumers does.. and opening up a lead after going around the first marker.
Lumers stepped back to turn around the second marker and slipped letting them catch up a little.
Lumers opened up another lead catching a wave ahead of second place.
Now it was Cam's turn after struggling to put on the wet red rashie.
The other teams were now on his tail.
Here's Jake getting ready to take his turn.
Jason looking nervous watching it all getting really close... I tried to hold back the winners so Jason could catch up but it didn't work.
It's now my turn to paddle.. and where is my paddle?.. The Queenslanders had buried it in the sand.. Sneaky buggers..
We were now in third place and as I ran to start my paddle I felt a calf cramp that made me want to stop and give up.
Jacko was now in the lead and I was chasing down second place.. I tryed and got close at the last buoy but was beaten on the race back to the beach.
Jacko's team had used the Naish window board and they had won fair and square.. Who'd have thought the window board could be a race winner..
Once I jumped off my board to run I had nothing left.. I gave up chasing second place and had to walk.
I knew someone was racing up behind me but walking was the best I could do.
Casso passed me for third.. Here he is running for the finish.
And here I am walking to the finish.. I was stuffed.
I had to sit down and rest the old body while everyone cheered on the winners.
The winning team all signed the now famous Naish window board.
It was a great race and I can't wait till next year.
