I got there about 9am and I could see two sup's out there already.. It was a beautiful day and warm and sunny.. Now to decide.. wettie or boardies?
I went with a wettie and wondered if I'd made the right decision because the water was nice a glassy.. and sooo warm.
Once out the back I could see it was Oliver and Gavin.. and there was a messy side chop from the light easterly wind.. Oliver was in his boardies..
Yeah I can see you Oliver.. Watch where you're going.
Oliver had his new chrome dome Gath on and was on his Romper Stonker board.
Gavin scratches over a wave after getting caught inside.. Gav was on his new Naish 11'4".
Peter soon joined us on his Starboard 11'2"...
... and he heads off to catch one as the weather starts to turn.
The waves started getting very inconsistent but there was the odd good sets coming through.. My 10' Mana was just the right board for me.
Gav and I waiting for a wave.
One minute it's clear sky and sunshine.. The next it's pissing down.. Arrrr that's beautiful Melbourne weather for ya..
Peter and Oliver share a wave while the rain still bucketed down.. Jeez I love being on the water during heavy rain.. The waves also picked up a bit.
Scott came out to join us on a 9'6" PSH board.
Where did all the waves go?
It was getting so cold you could hang your jacket off Olivers nipples.. so we headed in because the waves seem to have gone.
Driving off I notice the sun has come back.. and also the waves.. Bugger!
I stopped and watched as one lone SUP'er played on the nice waves and it was warm and sunny again.. What to do.. Go back out.. or eat?
I thought of Dogman and did the right thing..
