What a gutsy effort on a sup he was so deep there was no way she was letting him out

i will preface this by saying i havent tried sup yet, though interested in trying it along with kiting and windsurfing one day. just a regular surfers opinion.. whoever it was trying to surf pipeline on a giant paddle board while holding a paddle isnt very smart. would have thought it would be one of the last waves in the world sup is suited to. well done on getting that far on a wave at pipeline but given the shallow reef, gigantic board and paddle all wanting to bruise, rip your skin and break your bones.... wouldnt you be better off on a purpose made hawaiian gun? I know its stating the obvious but I guess its just a general comment about realising the limitations of the stick beneath your feet. Massive board with thick rails + gnarly 8ft wave = pain and suffering

That might have been his only wipeout after many perfect waves..You never know..

Laird SUP's double overhead Teahupoo..and does it perfect..

But these guys are not on a 11'6" Naish or 12'6" Starboard.. ..They're pretty thin railed high tech SUP's...

I reckon good on them..It's a gutsy effort..

You should give it a go one day..I'm sure you'll like it..It's perfect for those no wind days..

Never say never dude.. wait till you try it and you will maybe change your mind, Phil edwards, Greg noll, John Peck, & Butch Van Artsdalen & Fred hemmings all took pipe on before anyone else on boards that were thicker flater and way more bulky than the boards laird sups out there.
