Just putting this out here on the Forum, if it is not in the right area just let me know and will take down.

PocketFuel is slowing launching its product here in Australia after great success in the USA.
It is been used by a lot of top paddlers overseas with great results and now by paddlers here in Australia.
We have some stores stocking it in QLD but have clients looking for the product in other parts of the country especially VIC and Sydney area.
Just seeing if anybody knows any stores that would be interested in stocking this great product.

Oh....thought you had an exciting new coffee roast that had customers swooning.......looks like some chemical imitation of coffee pumped full of preservatives and artificial flavouring to me
coffee people say roast the beans....after 7 to 10 days its a pretty crap product that you wouldn't want to sell if you had any integrity as a barista

Fresh roast and grind is always best but then again your not going to be buying this product for it's "coffee" flavour.

My issues with this is the fact that coffee dehydrates you.... surely your body would be better off with water let alone electrolytes etc that can be found in sports endorsed products???

Water has my vote every time, been serving homosapiens for around 40'000 years, why change now ;)

On a side note...Banana blueberry and almond sounds like a great combination. Good mix of vitamins/minerals and proteins if grown and prepared right

Yes coffee, or more specifically CAFFEINE, dehydrates you if you don't have sufficient water intake at the same time - so it's just a matter of getting the balance right and giving yourself sufficient hydration along with any supplements your taking.

But if you're comparing the Energy Shots to many of the different energy gels on the market today, the gels also frequently contain caffeine (so no better in this respect) and also high levels of sugars (glucose, sucrose, fructose, maltodextrin...) which can also dehydrate you, compounding the effects of the caffeine. Many of the gels also contain a number of other artificial compounds, recently 'scientifically proven' to increase this or enhance that, and they may help you get through a hard training session or race... but haven't been around long enough to know any long term health implications they could have.

Taking the product (energy shots) on face value (because I haven't actually tried it), combining coffee/caffeine with coconut milk, a natural and nutrient dense substrate, rather than a synthetic chemical cocktail, doesn't sound like a bad thing to me... Fast release energy hit from the caffeine and natural sugars (from the cane juice) with slower secondary energy release from the coconut seems like a sensible option and probably won't have the same highs and lows as you can get from some of the sports gels on the markets. Not to mention it's probably a lot better for your digestive system too.

Water is an essential part and the base for any nutrition/supplement regime while training or racing, but if your going to take something extra as well, in my opinion, the shots appear to be a better option to many gels marketed for the same purpose.

Yes it is a forum so you have to expect opinions but uneducated ones are always interesting!!!!

PocketFuel Nut Butter blends are made from 100% natural, whole food ingredients found in nuts, seeds and fruits. Each blend is a slow burning, easy to digest fuel providing a natural & sustained energy boost to help your body to thrive and reach its maximum potential.
These blends are packed with many important B-complex group of vitamins such as riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6, and folates. These vitamins functions as co-factors for enzymes during cellular substrate metabolism.

They are also a rich source of minerals like manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, selenium and sodium. These electrolytes are absorbed efficiently into the bloodstream, speeding fluid to your cells to refuel, rehydrate and replenish your body. Quick absorption is essential for warding off fatigue, cooling the body and achieving peak performance.
Gluten free. Dairy Free. Soy free Vegan friendly

Just some simple educated facts about the product

Presently been used by some of the top guys surfing Jaws at present...
They must be looking for ways to dehydrate their bodies and fill it with crap while surfing all day out their!!!

Yeah don't be so quick to write this product off without trying it. It's not some overnight gimmick it's big in the USA and it's really popular in the Surf Life Saving scene here on the Gold Coast. As soon as you taste it you know there is nothing fake about it and it's not full of sh!t like all the energy drinks. I think it's pretty cool that you can surf or swim with in your pocket great for those long sessions.

I have nothing to do with these guys , just don't burn something without at least trying it. It gets a tick from me & my kids love it at nippers.

Whether the product is good or not...I think this pathetic salesperson should educate themselves on correct sales techniques. Come on here for a very big free plug, then to call people uneducated because they doubt it...you can take your smarmy arrogant self elswhere...if I want your product now,I will be sure to educate myself and bypass you and get it online...now that would be intresting

no horse in this race and not having a dig at MR VP, but big, popular, top seller, mean FA in this day and age. People are sheep, people want to believe what suits them.... Plenty of snake oils have made it to the Millions of dollars sales wise.

as for surfing long sessions, Bob McT use to do that on a loaf of bread and a few bananas...and I bet more hrs than any of us. A consistant healthy diet will go a long way.

now where is my large fries....

Supsurfers - your packaging claims that this product boosts concentration. Please could you tell me the design of the experiment you conducted to demonstrate this? I am a scientist, so you can be as technical as you like in your explanation. Was this a double-blind trial? What were the dependent variables? How large was your sample, and what were the exclusion criteria for participants? How long did the effect last? Were there any unwanted side-effects? Thanks.

Me too... I don't want to bum your high (nullify your hypothesis) but do you mean what was your (singular) dependent variable, or what were your (multiple) independent variables?

Give the guy a break - he is not trying to shove this stuff down people's throats, just asking if anyone can point him in the right direction. (disclaimer - I don't know him)

I meant it as I wrote it. Concentration (and memory, as claimed) is a complex construct and would be unlikely to be measured by a single measure. It would be most likely that there would be two or more inter-related variables, such as accuracy and reaction time, by which any effect would be assessed.

Please feel free to yank your own chain. I am trying to establish if this manufacturer is making claims they cannot support.

Chris_M, thank you for your kind words, and for giving me the opportunity to reiterate my concern that perhaps this manufacturer is making claims about this product that they cannot support. I will assume this is the case unless a representative of the company will describe to us the data they have gathered to demonstrate their claims.
