DJ and I are looking at being down there around midday.

Low Tide is at 1pm, light winds and 2m swell predicted - could be good.

The point should be ok tomorrow, today the waves were still rideable even 2 hours after low tide.
The tides are not very low at the moment but the sand was still ok inside the point today. It was about 4' with a bit of a southerly blowing, 2 mates put sails on their SUP's....lazy fellows.......they think they have invented something new.......I said I think its called sailboarding?
See ya out there

A last minute decision this morning and a quick juggle of work committments had me heading to Anglesea to meet DJ and Oliver. Was well attended by some other Breezers as well,LSD was charging from the rock,Phill was out with the go pro strapped to the red PSH,maybe Surfcoastsup on the 9'3" Naish also with a gopro and possibly a few others.
Waves wernt carrying right through as they have been going by the reports from the guys that had been there recently but still heaps of fun. When I left mid arvo DJ and Oliver were still paddling strong probably they went right through to dusk.
Cheers,
Camo.

I just got home.. It was great day.

Thanks Dean, Phill, Cam and Bret for sharing your waves with me.. I had a great time.

Dean (LSD) was ripping like usual.. and a real stand out in my eye.. Every time I looked up he was on a beauty and always in the right spot.

It was great to catch up with an old windsurfing friend Dale.. and at times there were over 10 sup's out there and enough waves for everyone.

Can't wait till next time... Sorry to those who I dropped in on..

DJ

Was Great to finally meet Camo and DJ!

I have to say today was really fat compared to Sat and Sun and seriously lacked push in my opinion but there were still great waves to be had.

The swirling water next to the rocks was sucking back up the wave on take off and for me at least was a real problem. But I still have a huge smile on my face!

Dean as usual was killing it, the man surfs with style and he has the point wired!

DJ and Oliver both got some great waves and Camo had the surf shapes humming.

The tide really didnt get low enough for it to carry all the way to the beach unfortunately but beggars cant be choosers.

I left when the 10000 canoes appeared on the horrizon lol!

Hope to see you all on Jun 13th at OG

Phill

For those interested I did take a few pictures yesterday during our trip down to Pt Roadknight.

This was from the road above Pt Roadknight looking back towards Torquay.

This is looking down on Pt Roadknight.. I think it was a lull in waves.. I should have waited for a good set to roll through before taking the pic.

I went down with Oliver and we parked at the boat ramp.

This was looking out as we were leaving in the late arvo.. Jeez what a beautiful place.

Dean (LSD on this forum) invited us back to his place (just up the road) so I could have a look at the new flat water board that he'd just made himself.

I also checked out his boat.. that he had also made himself... Amazing.

He had a very cool dog.. A Rhodesian Ridgeback.

Getting dropped back at my car at St Kilda the sky was pink.. and the traffic was bad.

Thanks Dean for the invite and thanks Oliver for driving me down.

DJ

DJ Once again a great lot of pics.
Once again I ask how come you never have to go to work like
all us suckers... GRRRR!!!
Its a beautiful place, just hope it stays that way.
I,ve been surfing down there for many years and now
with the surge in SUP popularity its great to see
the waves getting used....A lot have gone to waste
or only used by longboarders (guilty lol). In big swells.

Hey Plainsailing i've got to agree ,I remember the last time i surfed pt'rknight .A really big swell was running it would be about 10 years ago, and i was on my way to Lorne when i stopped at the lookout that used to be open, and saw Bali type lines running thru the point and no one out. For the interstate guys or people who havn't surfed PRK.It's really surprising how far out that point really is.I surfed for the first hour with 2 guys on short boards b4 being joined by about another dozen guys on l'boards, that believe it or not,is what made the day so memorable. Rides of 500mtrs ,meant every one was spread out and getting all the rides you could possibly what. To use the current vibe lots of ALOHA. LOts of bull**it stories were told later that day at the Anglesea pub with guys who didn't believe that the point could have such quality waves. When ever i have said one of my more memorable surf days was at pt r' knight , most guys just raise an eyebrow, or plain bust out laughing. But he who laughs last laughs longest Having seen another of DJ's super surf docos, I'm really looking forward to getting back on that side of the pond, and trying sup there .I have already promised OG Phill i would catch up when i do. LOL

Yeah! I remember seeing "endless summer" and when
they found Cape StFrancis in Sth Africa. I thought
"man" we got a wave just like that at PRK. I spose
the sands of time may have shifted the sand around
in the last 20odd years, but your right rodriguez there
used to be a real consistent wave thru there when the swell
was huge at bells etc. every wave was a carbon copy
(now theres an old saying) of the wave before and after.
Like cordoroy (spelling ???? you know what i mean.)
Winter when we get westerlies its offshore....BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Possibly those yarns at the Anglsea Pub are coming back
to haunt us. Maybe the sands getting back into shape for
a big winter.....Shesh! I hope so, summer was crap.

My first time there was Saturday and I had to take a day off work to go back on Tuesday, I'd go as far as calling it Vicos most ideal sup wave.

It is a great wave. When it gets head high+ it is one of the most busiest/funnest spots on the coast.

I SUPed there last winter before I snapped my archillies and it was freezing, around head high, 0.15m low tide and super consistant. Probably 40 guys out but plenty of waves for everyone cos the rides were so long. We were getting waves for about 400m then walking back and jumping off the point. One of my most memorable surfs but those memories have dragged my back there on lesser quality days. But I will get it again. Just need to wait for the big winter swells!

It would be one of the best waves for SUP except it's a right hander. I'd prefer the mirror image!
