Does anyone know if sup hire by the day is available in Port Douglas ?

Yep, there is a guy down at 6 mile, business is called Wind Swell, he does kites and various SUP's.

I have hired from him before and he does hourly or longer.

At the southern end of the beach. Ask locals where it is they all know and his truck is often parked in the main street.

There is Windswell at Four Mile Beach Park. Don't go 6 mile or your in Croc territory.

There is also a hire on the beach in front of the Surf club. So you have something at both ends.

Windswell is best cos' they hire out right at a reef.
