As usual i'll have the Surf Life Physio tent post race at Burleigh for some massage / strapping / advice after 12 Towers!!!This year i'll have Physiotherapist Jill down to help out - as i'll be paddling myself and most likely be requiring attention myself! Once / if i've recovered from paddling i'll be on hand too to help outHope to see everyone down there during and after the race - good luck!

oh.....but what about the concept that sup is good for core body strength and a natural way to exercise one's limbs and muscles?

I suspect that rugby (and I am not a rugby fan) involves people running as fast as they can towards other people who are running as fast as they can towards them......and then they impact with each other.
I don't know how you could possibly suggest that rugby is similar to sup?

you've suspected correctly. and I never mentioned that sup and rugby were similar - as you've clearly pointed out, even not being a rugby fan yourself, they are quite different.

I was responding this:

- in that rugby union is also good for core strength and limb strength and they too see physio's. Hope that clears things up for you - are you coming over to do the 12 towers race?

ho hum......am just wondering why you need a physio after competing in a low impact event as opposed to some of the more gladiatorial sports ?

of course some people don't render any reasoning......they are slightly inarticulate and can only do the red thumb thing?

well it's 14km paddling in the ocean - i'm not sure what your idea of gladiatorial is - but that's a fair whack? It's not just elite paddler's doing it either - some people will be first time paddlers who probably will pull up pretty sore, some will be nearing 50 or 60 years of age, who also will pull up pretty sore. Therefore benefiting from the skills, knowledge, and advice from an evidence based, university trained practitioner who is giving up their valuable Saturday to do so for free...

Thanks for offering up your valuable time and one of your staff(?).
I'm sure most paddlers would really value this .
